Your driving school car is more than a teaching vehicle. It is also valuable advertising space for your business.
A professionally printed magnetic roof sign makes your vehicle easy to recognise, displays your driving school branding and alerts other road users that a learner is behind the wheel.
One of the questions we are asked most often is:
Which size and style of roof top sign is suitable for my car?
The answer depends on the vehicle’s roof size and contour, as well as the style and amount of advertising space and layout you prefer.

The table below is based on roof top signs that Top Notch Signs has supplied and that customers have successfully used on these vehicles.

Can more than one roof sign fit the same car?
Yes. The make and model alone do not always determine the only suitable choice.
For example, we have supplied the Ford Puma with a Standard SOM1, SOM10 Pyramid and SOM13 Airflow. The final decision may depend on your preferred design, the amount of advertising space required and the exact specification of the vehicle roof.
Check your vehicle roof before ordering
Before ordering a magnetic roof sign, check whether the vehicle has:
- a panoramic or glass roof;
- a full-length sunroof;
- aluminium or composite roof panels;
- roof rails or raised ribs;
- an aerial that restricts the available space;
- enough flat steel surface beneath all magnets.
Magnetic roof signs must attach to a suitable steel surface. Please contact us with the vehicle make, model, year and a photograph of the roof if you are unsure.
Always check the relevant roof sign specification sheet (available on our website on each product page) carefully before ordering to confirm the dimensions, base profile and suitability for your vehicle’s roof; if you are unsure, contact us with the make, model, year and a clear roof photograph before placing your order and we can assist.
